Now we’re talking!

Friday, March 21st, 2008

It’s too bad I’m at work right now, but checking the scores lets me know we’ve got some good games going on and some potential for some serious bracket breaking. Drake, probably feeling as though they weren’t seeded properly, seems to be feeling a bit of a letdown. I still think Davidson can pull this out and Miami may not be as good as they think they are.

4 more join the club – Kent St, Baylor, Oral Roberts and Kentucky.

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Remaining true to form, we’ve got 4 more clubs that have had their seasons ended. Welcome Kentucky, Kent State, Baylor and Oral Roberts. Nothing too surprising, so people shouldn’t be that devastated. Now let’s see if my hometown team Cornell can hold their own against Stanford.  It’ll just be nice to have Cornell in the tourney this year.

Still looking for our first upset

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

We’re still looking for first upset.  Kentucky is keeping it close with Marquette, but they probably aren’t going to be able to break through. UNLV is just putting it to Kent State, Pittsburgh looks like they are letting off the gas a bit and saving some resources and Purdue is just about done with Baylor.

Baylor has come a long way in the last few years, but they have fallen a long way. It doesn’t look like they will be getting a win in the tourney this year.

6 Minutes and 16 points!

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

I’m sure the halftime speech given by Kent State GOLDEN FLASHES coach Jim Christian was just slightly animated. 6 minutes into the 2nd half and they’ve almost doubled their entire first half production. Don’t fret. The Golden Flashes will be joining the group at March Sadness shortly.

10 Points in a half? Ouch.

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Only scoring 10 points in the first half against UNLV, Kent State fans are feeling the March Sadness.  Everything else looks to be going just about as planned. Pittsburgh is playing some good ball and will be a tough team to beat if they can keep it up. Confidence backed by results this late in the season is a very dangerous thing.

Welcome Vikings, Bulldogs and Owls!

Let the boss know that you are suddenly feeling better and you’ll be there Saturday. It’s all over for Georgia, Portland St and Temple. I’m sure that it was an honor just to be nominated. . .

Who will be first?

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Who is going to be first? According to the time left, Georgia or Xavier fans may be our first March Sadness victims this year. But I think we all know in our hearts that the Portland State Viking vans are already crossed off of a lot of brackets. At least I’ve gotten one right so far.

I really didn’t think that Georgia would be able to keep up their intensity and give Xavier a game. I thought they had left it all on the court in their conference tourney much like my beloved Syracuse had a few years ago.

Stay tuned and we’ll see what happens.

Let the March Sadness BEGIN!

Welcome to the first entry in this year’s March Sadness blog! We’re going to be following the ups and downs of the 2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Nothing brings on March Sadness like the March Madness!
